FLOOR() Function in Oracle SQL Plus

The FLOOR() Function is used to find the floor value of a number or numeric expression or a numeric field.
Reader Level:

FLOOR() FUNCTION

The FLOOR() Function Returns the largest integer less than or equal to the specified argument (numeric expression/field or can be implicitly converted to numeric type).

For eg. The FLOOR value of the number "203.65" is "203".

Syntax :

SELECT FLOOR(column_name) FROM table_name;
OR
SELECT FLOOR(expression) FROM DUAL;

Example :

FLOOR.gif

From the above given table ItemsTable, we need to find the floor value for each item in Column Items, we'll execute the following SQL Query :

SELECT FLOOR(Items) FROM ItemsTable;

The Result-set will look like this :

 FLOOR1.gif
