Aggregate Function in MySql: Part 1

In this article we will learn how to use aggregate function like count , min , max.
Reader Level:

Aggregate function are the function that perform mathematical operation on a column.

  1. Count () and Sum ()  :This function is basically use to count from the column. In this we Used two aggregate function in select statement.

    Syntax For this command:

    Select count (*) ,sum (column name) from table name;

    count.jpg
  1. Max ( ) :This Function is use to find the maximum value from the column.

    Syntax for this Command :

    SELECT MAX(column name) FROM table name;

    max.jpg
     
    Similarly you can use MIN () and AVG ();
