Linux is an operating system which is used same as windows and Mac operating system and is the software on a computer that enables applications and the computer operator to access the devices on the computer to perform desired functions. The operating system relays instructions from an application to for instance, the computer"s processor. The processor performs the instructed task, then sends the results back to the application via the operating system. Linux is including a graphical user interface an X Window System, TCP/IP, the Emacs editor, and other components usually found in a comprehensive Unix system. Although copyrights are held by various creators of Linux"s components and the Linux is distributed using the Free Software Foundation"s copyleft stipulations that mean any modified version that is redistributed must in turn be freely available. Linux is publicly open and extends by contributors because it conforms to the Portable Operating System Interface standard user and programming interfaces, developers can write programs that can be ported to other operating systems.
