How to use FLOOR() function in SQL Server 2012

In this article I have described about to use FLOOR() function in SQL Server 2012.

Introduction

The floor of a number is that closest integer value that is lesser than the given number or can say largest integer less than or equal to the specified argument. For example the floor of 8.155 is 8 the closest integer lesser than or equal to 8.155. Same way the floor of -12.06 is become -13 because -13 is lesser then -12.06.

FLOOR() function in SQL

Hence to get the floor of a number we can use FLOOR() function in SQL.

Syntax -

The syntax of  FLOOR() function is as follows

FLOOR (Expression)

We can use FLOOR() function in SQL as follows.
